Out to a local quarry for this trip, and at stupid-oclock in the morning! Yep, for some of these shoots, the alarm beeps at 4am to ensure I can arrive at the location with enough time to find a composition before the first light begins to illuminate the landscape.
The Moorooduc Quarry is located in Mt Eliza, only a 15 minute drive from home, and is a gorgeous reserve. This is one location I've eyed off for a while but haven't made the trip to. With the possibility of good colour this morning, I headed out, only to find a lovely high fog rolling over, blocking out any colour whatsoever! While this didn't work in my favour for the high shot over the quarry, it helped in removing hotspots when doing more detailed shots at the waters level.
